Course Intention:
This course is designed for personnel who are required to enter a confined space as part of their daily operations.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:

  • Define and identify a confined space;
  • Identify the hazards associated with the task at hand;
  • Recall regulations and procedures for controlling confined space entry;
  • Use methods to identify, assess and control the hazards of confined space entry; and
  • Recall rescue and First Aid procedures.

  • Definition and identification of a confined space
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment for a confined space
  • Major hazards in a confined space
  • Monitoring Confined Spaces
  • Gases found in Confined Spaces
  • Roles and Responsibilities of operators and stand-by persons
  • Rescue and First Aid from a confined space
  • Safety equipment required for rescue from a confined space
