Awareness Training

 

Course Duration: 

4 hours (dependent on your needs)

 

Course Location:

All OH&S Consulting training is performed face to face at your premises or a Training Venue can be arranged (at an additional fee).

 

Course Intention:

This course is intended for all personnel from office workers to trades personnel. This course can be run as an awareness raising session in a toolbox meeting scenario through a ½ day course covering specific electrical safety issues. This course can also be run as a refresher session for personnel to revisit electrical hazards in order to gain a healthy
respect of working with electricity.

 

All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance. 

 

Learning Objectives & Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:

• Develop a healthy appreciation of the hazards associated with electricity.

• Identify possible causes of electrical incidents.

• Discuss safe work practices when working with electricity.

• Recall instrument and maintenance checks for portable electrical devices.

 

Course Contents:

• Causes of electrical incidents.

• Prevention of electrical shock.

• Tool and equipment safety.

• Safe Work Practices for electrically powered tools and equipment.

• Tagging of faulty equipment.

• Legislative requirements for testing and tagging, inspection, record keeping and use of Residual Current Devices.

• Reporting of electrical incidents and injuries.
