Heat Stress Training

Course Duration:

1 hour

 

Course Location: 

All OH&S Consulting training is performed face to face at your premises or a Training Venue can be arranged (at an additional fee).

 

Course Intention: 

This course is intended for personnel who will be required to work in a hot work
environment to learn strategies to prevent heat exposure and heat stress of the body.  

 

All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.

 

Learning Objectives & Outcomes: 

Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:

  • Gain an understanding of the hazards associated when operating in Hot Work Environments.

  • Recall and recognise the signs and symptoms of heat related conditions and how heat affects the body.

  • Learn how to treat an individual who has been exposed to heat related

  • conditions.

  • Understand the basic principles of preventing heat related conditions.

 

Course Contents: 

  • Working in heat affected work environments.

  • Effect of heat on the body.

  • External and Internal Factors of Heat Stress.

  • Heat Disorders - Heat Rash, Heat Fatigue, Heat Cramps, Heat Exhaustion, Heat Stroke.

  • Prevention of Heat Stress.

  • Treatment of Heat Stress.

  • Practical exercise - diagnostic urine testing.
