Managing Shiftwork Training

All OH&S Consulting training is performed face to face at your premises or a Training Venue can be arranged (at an additional fee).

 

Course Intention: 

To outline the philosophy behind an organisation's Occupational Safety and Health management system and how shiftwork fits in.

Provide practical information on shift rotations, timing of tasks, hazards, health effects, fatigue and sleeping, health and physical fitness, diet and digestion and social effects of shiftwork.

 

All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.

 

Learning Objectives & Outcomes: 

Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:

  • Identify strategies that must be considered to reduce adverse effects of shiftwork.

  • List some of the health effects that must be considered when working a shift

  • rotation.

  • Explain the benefits of conducting some types of work on dayshift.

  • Describe some hazards and hazard management strategies for shiftwork.

  • List desirable characteristics of a 12 hour shift schedule.

  • An understanding of fatigue and how to be able to sleep properly.

  • Describe effective strategies for managing sleep, fitness and digestion.
