The Well Man/Woman Health Program Training

Course Duration:

Flexible, tailored to your needs.  Can be 2 - 4 hours in combined lecture/interactive workshop.

 

Course Location: 

All OH&S Consulting training is performed face to face at your premises or a Training Venue can be arranged (at an additional fee).

 

Course Intention: 

A health promotion program designed to increase participant knowledge and heighten awareness of specific health issues that affect men and women with emphasis on gender specific diseases/conditions being preventable and manageable. This type of health
promotion empowers participants and enables them to make educated health decisions thus assisting them to take better care of their health and cultivate a richer life outside of work.

 

All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.

 

Learning Objectives & Outcomes: 

Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:

  • Recognise health issues that may impinge on the health status of both men and women.

  • Be equipped with preventative measures/techniques to assist them in self detection of gender specific health risks thereby minimising the impact.

  • Know where and when to seek follow up treatment on any identified health issues with an appropriate physician.

 

Course Contents: 

This course is developed according to the needs of the target workforce, below are types of examples that could be included in the Well-Man and Well-Woman Program.

 

The Well-Man Health Program includes, but is not limited to:

  • Alcohol and drugs.

  • Men’s sexual health.

  • Men and ageing (testicular cancer, prostate problems, haemorrhoids & hernia).

  • Nutrition for the working man.

  • Osteoporosis.

  • Fathering.

  • Communication skills - relationships.

  • Workplace stress.

 

The Well-Woman Health Program includes, but is not limited to:

  • Self breast examination.

  • Cervical cancer (pap smears).

  • Menstrual issues (includes PMS, Menopause- HRT).

  • Sexual health (includes Contraception).

  • Thrush/cystitis.

  • Pregnancy.

  • Nutrition - includes calcium (osteoporosis) and iron.

  • Exercise.
